She is Afghanistan’s ‘only porn star' and she’s ‘sure’ the Taliban know about her due to her popularity. Yasmeena Ali was a young girl when the Taliban took over Kabul back in the 1990s, and later moved to the safety of the UK where she says she has taken control of her own sexuality and ditched her religious Muslim past to become an atheist. She believes it's highly likely that the Taliban - who are back in power in her home country - have seen her work, which is shared on OnlyFans and in more sites. Speaking on the 'I Hate Porn podcast', she said: “They are mostly hating my content because they don’t want Afghanistan to be known for porn. How dare I show my body? They think they own my body and what I do with my body and I have no right to show it and I can't be a true Afghan if I do this. I always get such messages like you are faking it, you are Jewish, you are undercover. I am an Afghan so fucking what. Maybe there are Taliban out there who are watching my content who knows? Yasmeena runs an OnlyFans account, where she describes herself as an ‘erotic nude, BDSM adult model’ who shares ‘sexy, hot, cute, fun and funny content’ with her subscribers. She says her life is now markedly different to the one she had back in Afghanistan. Elsewhere in the podcast, she spoke about the Taliban’s attitudes towards women. “All the rules are only for men's advantages and pleasure,” she said. “If you are on your period you are considered unholy, dirty. Without women there would be no human race but they have a problem with female sexuality because they are afraid of losing control. The whole idea is based on controlling and subjugating women and that can only happen if they are not educated so they are following without questioning. The moment you give them education or resources they will threaten the status quo and they don’t want that, they enjoy power. Those men love power. It is a barbaric caveman mentality. It is about power and the control you have over somebody".
Yasmeena (her real name is Khadija Patman) was born in Kabul in 1993, she was still a child when she moved with her family to the UK. She launched her career when she met director David Cohen, whom she later married. The two previously lived in Austria and moved to Slovakia in 2017. Yasmeena became embroiled in a criminal case in 2020 when her father and his cousin were arrested for plotting to murder her because she had left Islam and had "disgraced the family" with her choice of career. The British National Crime Agency stated that the two took several trips to Slovakia in 2018 in order to search for her, and that a hitman offered to kill her for $70,000. She now advocates for women's rights and "condemns liberal activists who turn a blind eye to the violation of these rights by Islam".
